Willow Tree Angels

Angels are cosmic beings and are more famously known as messengers from God.  According to the Bible, the war between good and evil from Heaven and Earth have been fought by them, headed by the prolific Michael Archangel, against the forces of evil led by the fallen Angel known as Lucifer.

Since the beginning of time, Angels have been the messengers of the Lord for His faithful followers and prophets of the three most widely practiced religions of the world which have set the cornerstone of events and history of the world for more than 2000 years.  Famous historical and religious personalities and prophets such as Abraham, Elijah, Mohammad, John the Baptist, Mary mother of Jesus, are a few of many who were visited and given messages from the Lord by Angels, the most famous of these messenger Angels is the Angel Gabriel.

Having been given this role by the Lord, Angels are known to have instilled hope and inspiration to people to withstand life's challenges, and to be strong-willed and stay true to their faith.

Willow Tree focuses on Angel sculptures which expresses the qualities of one's emotions and his/her sentiments.  Feelings of Friendship, Love, Hope, and Spirituality are a few of many expressions given.  One look at the Angel statues will let someone reminisce and remember their treasured moments and be inspired.

The renowned artist, Susan Lordi, crafted Willow Tree Angels, each Angel figurine expresses the feelings of courage, hope, love and healing.  Her drive to promote healing and inspiration to motivate others through her sculptures, and remembrance of emotions of life well-lived.

Introduced in January of 2000, Susan Lordi started with only 15 angels and the scene of the Nativity.  Willow Tree has grown to the thousands since then of Angel figurines to express human sentiments to our loved ones.

Susan Lordi also keeps each Willow Tree Figurine “open” to anyone’s interpretation on how they see each piece.  She created Willow Tree Angels so that  each one can express what they think towards what each figurine is expressing and eventually process that interpretation into something good.

Why is it called Willow Tree?  Because each figurine’s vertical stature and tree like texture symbolizes the firm stance of a willow tree and metaphorically holds objects of nature such as flora and animals to symbolize healing, remembrance and beauty.

These simple but intricately designed Angels are hand-crafted to offer strength, courage, faith and love.  And unlike the Angels that serve as our guardians, Willow Tree Angels are visible to our naked eyes.

Would it not be great to think if an Angel sent by God will appear and comfort us whenever we are feeling down and ready to give up.  Offering us comfort, hope and relief by a supernatural being sent by God is such a comforting thought to everyone who believes.  I’m sure that most, if not all, persons in different parts of the world have their own story of miracles.

Willow Tree Angels may not be the real ones as their heavenly counterparts that watch over us wherever we go, but they are figures of expressions which are related to our own and help us enhance each of our emotion and share it to the people we know or do not know, and give them the care, strength and love they deserve.

All of these products I found on the Internet but the largest selection by far was at Cherry Lane Keepsakes.com.
